Abstract

The efforts of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers are an attempt made by teachers in the field of Islamic Studies to solve a problem in order to achieve the expected goals. The teacher's efforts are fulfilling and fostering students' potential, one of which is spiritual potential. Spiritual intelligence is one aspect of intelligence that students need to have. However, in reality this has not been fully fulfilled because of the limited time available during the learning process at school, the stigma that considers that students are said to be intelligent if they are able to get high grades and win the class. Some teachers optimize the intellectual aspect more. Therefore, researchers conducted research related to how the efforts of PAI teachers in fostering students' spiritual intelligence? as well as what factors support and hinder the efforts of PAI teachers in fostering students' spiritual intelligence? The purpose of this study is to describe the efforts of PAI teachers in fostering spiritual intelligence, the supporting and inhibiting factors for PAI teachers in fostering students' spiritual intelligence. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research with the methods used in the form of interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed that the efforts made by PAI teachers in fostering students' spiritual intelligence were carried out by accustoming students to congregational prayers, holding guidance on reading the Qoran, getting students to always pray, training students to be honest, and instilling gratitude
